Susan Iger


Susan Iger is an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist with an extremely strong

background in writing, news production, reality series production and television


Currently, she is Executive in Charge of Production, at CUNY-TV where she shares

management and supervisory duties with Gail Yancosek.  Together, they develop and

produce public affairs series and specials.

She began her career at WNEW-TV in New York City working as a writer, copy editor,

and finally, line producer for The Ten O’Clock News.

Moving on to WABC-TV, Eyewitness News, Ms. Iger rose through the ranks to become

the Executive Producer of Special Events where she was responsible for the total

coordination and planning of local news election coverage as well as coverage of

various news events.  She was nominated for an Emmy award, as well as winning

awards from local governmental agencies.

At WNBC-TV, Ms. Iger created and produced many award winning series; among them,

Is God Punishing Us? and MTV and Kids, both of which won Emmys.

Relocating to Los Angeles, Ms. Iger worked as executive producer at KCBS-TV where

she developed an award winning daily environmental series that won an Emmy for a 5

part special entitled How Does Your Garden Grow?

Returning to New York, Ms. Iger shifted focus to reality and documentary production.

She ran her own company for many years, Iger/Reed Productions that produced Food

Network series, and also produced commercials.

She then joined Today Show Host Al Roker and ran Al Roker Productions.  Here she

oversaw the production of multi-part half hour series for the Food Network; Discovery;

Court TV; Fine Living; A&E Biographies; TVOne; and annual specials for NBC,

“Reader’s Digest Word Power.”

Ms. Iger has also held free-lance executive positions at WNET-TV, Gelber Television

Inc., Entertainment Tonight, CNBC-TV. WCBS-TV, and The Women’s Media Center.
